Synopsis
Nibav Home Elevators USA with Battery 2.0 Backup keep your lift running safely during power cuts. The advanced backup system ensures smooth descent, door unlocking, and uninterrupted mobility making Nibav lifts a reliable, space-saving solution for modern American homes.
What it is
Battery 2.0—a backup system using batteries, designed by Nibav USA, and exclusively to operate a residential elevator during times of no electricity. While most basic emergency battery backups allow limited descent capabilities, the Battery 2.0 backup allows operation of cabin lights, cabin venting, controls and communication systems during a time of no electricity from the house; hence, it will have normal usage.
Battery 2.0 in conjunction with the Nibav vacuum elevator design has been engineered and integrated within the elevator’s control and power system. As soon as Battery 2.0 detects a loss of electric power, it will automatically turn on and provide a safe and comfortable passenger environment, allowing the elevator to continue to function while performing the emergency descent function, allowing the door to open normally.
Battery 2.0 acts not only as an emergency battery backup, but also a complete safety back-up system that will keep its user comfortable and secure during an unforeseen power interruption.
Why it matters
Power loss and interruption present some of the greatest safety issues relating to a residential elevator. In most elevator systems in a home, the loss of power will result in a completely dark elevator shaft and the lack of ventilation, non-functioning elevator controls, and trapped passengers until the power has been restored or assistance has arrived.
In the United States, many homeowners live in places where power outages can happen due to storms, grid failures, or maintenance on the grid. Therefore, Battery 2.0 will allow homeowners to have elevators that operate safely, regardless of whether there is external power to operate their elevators.
Who needs this?
1. Seniors and people with mobility problems:
Having an elevator is needed each day, not just as a convenience. Battery backup allows these people to use the elevator more safely without worrying about power outages.
2. Homeowners in an area that will experience frequent power outages:
There are many reasons why there could be no electricity, such as storms, excessive heat, utility issues, etc.
3. Families with young kids:
Having a lit cabin with flow-through ventilation helps prevent panic in children and allows safe exit from the cabin.
4. Luxury homebuilders:
Many high-end homes require reliable systems to provide safety and can continue to provide it during power failures.
5. People who want to ensure their homes have a backup system in the event of power failure:
This additional protection will provide the highest level of redundancy to a home’s mobility system.
Technical details
Nibav USA has designed Battery 2.0 as an integrated energy continuity system, rather than just being a simple emergency battery.
1. Automatic power detection:
The elevator’s control unit monitors all incoming electrical supply. If there is a loss of voltage or a loss of the electrical supply, the elevator’s control unit will instantly switch over to Battery 2.0 mode without interruption of the cabin systems.
Power distribution:
The battery provides the following to power the elevator:
- Cabin light circuits
- Cabin ventilation fan circuits
- Cabin control electronics
- Cabin door operation motors
- Cabin emergency descent systems
All of these systems will continue to provide complete functionality of the cabin during the time period of the electrical outage.
2. Emergency descent function:
In the event of main power being turned off, the pneumatic vacuum system will work together with Battery 2.0 to allow the elevator to descend to the lowest floor using gravity and controlled air pressure. During this entire time period, the battery will continue to keep the control logic for all safety interlocks active.
3. Recharge after power is restored:
Once power is restored, Battery 2.0 recharges itself automatically using its built-in smart charging module, allowing it to always be ready for any future outages.
4. System integration:
Battery 2.0 has been fully integrated into Nibav’s elevator control architecture. A user no longer needs to buy and install a UPS or wall-mounted backup box.
Frequently asked questions
1. Will the elevator still move during a power outage?
Yes, Battery 2.0 allows elevators to perform controlled descent and open doors safely.
2. Do lights and ventilation continue to work during a power outage?
Yes, all cabin lights, airflow, and control panels will remain powered during the power outage.
3. How long will the battery last?
Battery 2.0 is designed to provide enough power for multiple emergency operations while still keeping all of the Battery 2.0 safety critical devices powered during a power outage.
4. Will my Battery 2.0 recharge automatically after power is restored?
Yes, the battery will recharge automatically after power is restored with no user intervention required.
5. Is this standard on all Nibav USA elevators?
Battery 2.0 has been incorporated into Nibav’s safety first design philosophy and engineered in Nibav elevators to be used in all residential Nibav elevators.
